Once you have completed all the Commission requirements, fill out the Evaluation of Education Document Form and send copies of college transcript and class certificates to the Real Estate Commission. This process generally takes 10 business days.

Mailing Address:
Texas Real Estate Commission

Phone: (512) 459-6544 or 1-800-250-TREC (8732)

Email: education@trec.state.tx.us

2. File Your Application

Once TREC notifies you that your education requirements have been met, you are ready to submit the real estate application and required fees to the Texas Real Estate Commission. By filing this online it will speed up the application process considerably. (Application For Inactive Salesperson License). Once your application has been received and accepted, you will receive a letter stating you may obtain a copy of the Candidate Information Brochure (CIB) to register for the exam.  You can download  the CIB from the web site at http://www.psiexams.com. You can not register for the exam without first receiving this letter from TREC.

3. Take State Licensing Exam

The State exam is divided into two parts, a National portion and a Texas-specific portion.

4. Become Sponsored
If you elected to be an active agent, apply with EREC to sponsor and develop your customized career training path. Then you can start selling real estate. Meet our Director of Career Devlopment.
